Hillarys Boat Harbour Master Plan in a collaborative approach to transform and future proof the Hillarys offering and significantly improve movement (shared transport, vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists).
Hillarys Boat Harbour is the one of Perth’s top tourist attractions and a global hotspot. It is located approximately 30 minutes from Perth International Airport. The Harbour is a public reserve. Its use, development and ongoing operations are delegated to the Department of Transport. Its unique design, mix of commercial and retail offerings, proximity to the key target markets (young families), and good road and water access add to its broad appeal.
Attractions such as the Aquarium of Western Australia, ferry, boat and helicopter tours, and its diverse range of dining, retail and entertainment make it extremely popular with day visitors. It also offers accommodation for overnight and longer stays.
Led by the Department of Transport, a master plan is being developed to enhance the Harbour’s offering and connectivity. The Hillarys Boat Harbour Master Plan (the Master Plan) encompasses a series of initiatives and aspirations to ensure the continued success of Hillarys as a unique destination and visitor focal point north of Perth. Importantly, the Master Plan aims to deliver opportunities to increase the activities and attractions available to improve the competitiveness of Hillarys as an Activity Centre. The Master Plan introduces physical, infrastructure and operational improvements to the landscape, built form, activities and surrounding environment that will see the Hillarys Boat Harbour remain as one of the most visited tourist and family destinations in Western Australia.
