Beharra is a high-grade silica sand project located <100km south or Geraldton with plans to export up to 1.5mtpa of low impurity sand to the Asian region for use in high end glass applications including solar panel glass.
Beharra represents the leading high grade silica sand development project in the Mid-West region of Western Australia and has potential to become the foundational member of an important and growing new export industry for the region. Beharra has undertaken a level of study and analysis of Beharra that is unrivalled from any regional peers and conclusively demonstrated a leading position on the key attribute of product quality (low impurity). Perpetual has undertaken a Pre-Feasibility Study (in 2021) which demonstrates standout economics (55% ungeared IRR), exceptional payback (<2 years) on modest capital (<A$39 million), with an NPV of >A$230 million (on an ungeared basis). Based on all environmental studies completed to date, the Beharra project also exhibits a minimal environmental footprint, with development to be undertaken with a view to complete rehabilitation of the mine site and return of the natural habitat to the Western Australian government at mine closure.
