Carbon stocks are increased by removing CO2e- gases from the atmosphere and permanently storing them in the vegetation. This is facilitated by allowing a historically suppressed forest to regenerate and therefore grow significant additional vegetation biomass.
The investment will also allow Carbon Neutral to purchase a suitable property and subsequently establishing the most appropriate carbon project(s) depending on the land type. The Carbon Projects once established, can be gifted, sold, or leased to an appropriate third party; whilst the exclusive rights to the carbon are retained for Investors use. Prospective parties which may be interested in the land are regenerative farmers, forestry companies or First Nations groups depending on the land class and project type. This will provide the investor to have complete control of a project enabling the pursuit of the co-benefits it has nominated, the option to partner with First Nations groups which may be interested in the establishment and management of the vegetation, potentially providing social benefits. The option to gift a portion of the land to First Nations groups at the end of the project is also feasible. The sale or long-term lease of parts or all the property will mitigate the ongoing management responsibilities and costs for the Investor, whilst an adequate Carbon Right will secure the legal right to the carbon.
